Why Work with A Local Senior Living Advisor

The decision to move yourself or a loved one into senior living is a difficult decision, and I don’t want you to have to make that decision alone. Senior Placement of Colorado is a team of local consultants, Senior Living Advisors, who will work with you to gather information about all of your family’s needs. We personally know each community we recommend. A local agent is expected to tour communities with you as your advocate, acting as a consultant, not a telemarketing firm. We will ask the questions you don’t know to ask on a tour.

A Place for Mom and Caring.com capture your personal information off the internet. In the past, these companies “owned a lead” without the family knowing, and have broadcast the family name out to hundreds of communities, expecting to get paid when you move in. The result is immediate telemarketing to the family, like you, flooded with phone calls from communities all trying to get to you first. Often in a difficult spot, families are confused, don’t know what questions to ask, how to determine what they can afford or even what cares are needed. Families have historically had a difficult time getting OFF the telemarketing list of Caring.com or A Place for Mom.

A Senior Living Advisor is not paid by the family, but by the community after a move. Any community should only have to pay ONE placement agent, hence the need for the family to choose one group to work with. Colorado’s Legislature passed two bills allowing families to choose which single placement agent to work with (see attached.) Therefore, as your chosen agent, we are required to receive your signature on a disclosure.

I hope you have a better understanding why choosing a local Senior Living Advisor can be a wise consultant for your family. I am happy to answer any further questions you have about our placement industry and our best practices.
